Homes were cities that went to sea or remained ashore.
Seagoing homes were constructed of wood with copper sheathing on the hull. Fittings were of copper; iron was reserved for weapons.
Typically, a home consisted of three sections. The lord of the home and his clan resided in the center section. The fore and aft sections were populated by another clan each. If the home had a large enough population, either of the fore or aft clans could depart to begin a new home.
Each home was an independent nation. There are exceptions the Fil-pin Islands for one.
